Prayer Engine was created by Eric Murrell in Nashville, TN. In addition to his WordPress development projects, Eric is the Creative Director for Long Hollow, a large multi-site church that has been blessed with explosive growth over the past 15 years.
After seeing the frustrations and limitations of the email prayer chains that many ministries rely on, Eric set out to develop an affordable tool that would be a better fit for the needs of a modern prayer ministry. Prayer Engine provides consistency, moderation and sharing functionality that are light-years ahead of an email list, making it the ideal fit for your ministry.
Yes! Your Prayer Engine download also includes a standalone Prayer Engine web app that will run on almost any web server.
Detailed installation instructions for the standalone version are included in Prayer Engine's User Guide. Simply create a fresh MySQL database, upload the files to your server and run the one-step installation wizard. It only takes about five minutes for someone with basic knowledge of web hosting, domain names and MySQL. Watch the video walkthrough.
Please note: Groups Engine and Series Engine are WordPress only.
Simply upload the plugin file to WordPress and click install. Groups Engine also includes a detailed user guide to help you along the way.
Zero. Zilch. Your one time purchase of a Prayer Engine license entitles you to use the plugin for life, including free updates. It's the best investment your prayer ministry will ever make.
Plugin updates can be found in the WordPress updater along with your other plugins and themes.
Prayer Engine is currently on Version 2.3.3. Click here to view our changelog of updates.
Of course! It takes only seconds to modify colors and styles in the Prayer Engine settings menu, and you can also specify what prayer requests are displayed, if you want to disable the "I Prayed for This" button, and other settings.
Prayer Engine was built from the ground up to look incredible on laptops, tablets, smart phones, and everything in between. It's fully responsive with no loss in functionality no matter how you view it.
When a user submits a prayer request, they immediately receive a confirmation email containing the details of their prayer request. This email also contains a removal link that gives them the ability to remove their prayer request from your Prayer Wall at any time with a simple click.
Prayer Engine includes several RSS Feeds and other functionality built specifically to share your prayer requests through social media.
When enabled in your Prayer Wall settings, Prayer Engine will collect a specially formatted prayer request that is saved for sharing on Twitter. Simply create a special Twitter account just for your prayer requests, and link Prayer Engine's Twitter RSS Feed to the account using a service like If Then Then That. The whole process takes just a few minutes.
In addition, you can use the same feeds to publish the latest prayer requests to any Facebook page using free services like IFTTT or RSS Graffiti.
Remember that one click from the administrative portal updates a prayer request everywhere; Prayer Engine does the grunt work for you.
Prayer Engine can be combined with the excellent (and free!) FeedBurner service to create a daily email blast of the most recent prayer requests. You can read more about FeedBurner email subscriptions through in the Feedburner FAQ.
Probably so; Prayer Engine was built with popular open-source web languages that are already installed and supported by the majority of web hosting providers. Simply ask your hosting provider if they support PHP 5 (with the "pdo_mysql" extension) and MySQL; if they don't already have it installed, they will very likely install it for you since these technologies are free to use.
Yes, for a small fee. Prayer Engine is designed to be easy-to-install for a beginning web developer. If you don't have a developer on staff (or just need some help), we can install Prayer Engine for you as long as your hosting provider matches the criteria above. Give us the specifics of your situation using the form above to receive a free quote; we'll try to get back to you in just a few business days.
Yes! We're blessed to have so many customers who recommend the Prayer Engine to friends that we've developed a special (free!) program that will give you $30 for every copy sold through your affiliate link!. You can learn more and sign up here.
Yes, a licensed copy of Prayer Engine may be resold to another client/organization as part of a web package from you/your company. We require that one license is purchased for every client that will use the Prayer Engine plugin. Discounted bulk-packs are available if you would like to regularly offer implementations of Prayer Engine to your clients.
Prayer Engine may not be resold on its own, and individual components of Prayer Engine may not be commercially distributed without prior written consent from Volacious. Please don't steal.
